STEM Women Celebrate 100th Event
October 2024 marked a major milestone for STEM Women as we celebrated our 100th event!
Since 2018, we have been hosting networking and careers events for STEM students and graduates. We set out to create opportunities for talented women in STEM to connect with forward-thinking employers, growing each year with increased demand from our clients across the UK, Europe and Australia.
How it started
The first STEM Women event took place in February 2018 at the London Transport Museum and soon became popular with students and employers alike. Our community continued to grow and in 2019 we hosted further events in London, Manchester, Dublin, Edinburgh, Bristol and Birmingham.
Moving online.. and back again!
In response to the global pandemic, in 2020 we pivoted to online events, enabling students and graduates to connect with STEM employers in a virtual environment. In 2021, we expanded our online offer to provide sector-specific events such as engineering, tech and financial services.
In 2022 we ran a combination of hybrid careers events, and we launched a global careers platform that offers job hunters access to opportunities throughout the year.
New locations
In 2023 we hosted events in new locations including Leeds and Belfast, as our flagship events in London and Dublin went from strength to strength. New locations were also added to our Australian Roadshow, which now covers five cities!
100 events old!
This Autumn saw STEM Women host 13 exciting events across the UK, Europe and online, with the Newcastle STEM Women Event marking our 100th event!
Since our very first event, we’ve brought together 80,000+ attendees and 1,000+ exhibitors across the globe. From local meet-ups to international events, each one has celebrated diversity, broken down barriers, and opened doors for women in STEM.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of everyone involved. To our exhibitors, who believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity. To our attendees, whose passion for STEM inspires us daily. To our venue partners, who help us bring our events to life. And of course, to our dedicated STEM Women team – your hard work and vision have made this all possible.
