Summer Events 2025 Roundup: Connecting STEM Talent Across the UK & Ireland
June was an incredibly busy and rewarding month for the STEM Women team, with five fantastic events taking place across the UK and Ireland. From virtual engagement to in-person networking, we welcomed thousands of students, graduates, and employers to connect, inspire, and shape the future of women in STEM.
Here’s a look back at what we achieved together this month.
Virtual UK-Wide Engineering Event – 4th June 2025
We kicked off the month with our UK Wide Virtual Engineering Event, bringing together 359 attendees from across the UK to explore careers in engineering. Hosted on our virtual events platform, the day featured:
- A welcome talk from Sophie Chadwick, Marketing & Events Director at STEM Women
- Visiting virtual company booths where attendees can learn about the company and apply for jobs
- Live chat with employers on the platform where attendees could network with recruiters, ask questions and seek advice tailored to people seeking careers in engineering
This event highlighted the value of accessible engagement and reinforced the importance of representation in engineering.
London Graduate Careers Event – 11th June 2025
Held at the QEII Centre in Westminster, our London event was a huge success, welcoming 451 students and recent graduates to connect with top STEM employers.
Attendees had the chance to:
- Meet representatives from companies including Dell, Ericsson, British Airways, Medpace, Renault, Sky, and the Royal Navy.
- Hear inspiring speaker sessions, including talks from Capgemini, AWE and Gunvor Group.
- Join a thought-provoking panel discussion with professionals from Gunvor Group, Capgemini, and STEM Women’s Sophie Chadwick.
With a buzzing exhibition hall and dedicated networking time, this event offered a full day of insight and opportunity.
Dublin Graduate Careers Event – 17th June 2025
Our team travelled to Ireland for our Dublin event at the Aviva Stadium, where we welcomed students and graduates eager to kickstart their STEM careers.
Employers from a wide range of sectors were on hand to offer advice, share opportunities, and meet candidates face-to-face, including 2K Games, Ryanair, Pfizer, Colgate, and more.
427 STEM student and graduate attendees arrived at Aviva Stadium where STEM Women had pulled together an array of opportunities for them to discover under one roof. The energy and enthusiasm in the room made it clear that the future is bright for Dublin’s women in STEM.
Bristol In-Person Graduate Careers Event – 25th June 2025
Next, we visited Bristol, where over 100 students and graduates gathered for an afternoon of networking and career discovery at the iconic venue, We The Curious, Bristol.
Held in a welcoming and engaging setting, the event allowed students and graduates to chat face-face with employers and have meaningful conversations to learn, explore and network. Employers noted how engaged and truly interested the attendees were, and how it was a pleasure to hold such strong conversations with engaged and motivated women in STEM disciplines.
It was a fantastic opportunity for local students to meet with leading companies and explore their options for careers in STEM.
Glasgow Graduate Careers Event – 26th June 2025
Rounding off the month, we travelled to Glasgow for our final June event. Hosted at the Radisson Blu Hotel, the event welcomed 165 attendees from across Scotland for an afternoon of inspiration and opportunity.
Exhibiting employers included Scottish Power, SP Energy Networks, DeepOcean, Capgemini, Belcan and more! The afternoon saw networking between attendees and employers, who were showcasing their internships, placements, and graduate schemes and jobs.
The event created a dynamic space for students to build lasting connections and continue their career growth beyond the event.
Key Takeaways
With our June events, we demonstrated the power and importance of both virtual and in-person events in advancing diversity in STEM fields. Across 5 events, we saw:
- Over 1,500 attendees connecting with industry-leading employers
- A wide variety of companies that champion diversity and inclusion in their recruiting, as well as their variety of roles on offer for attendees to discover.
- Inspiring speakers, panelists, recruiters, and STEM’s next generation of talented women.
Whether online or face-to-face, STEM Women events continue to empower the next generation of women and non-binary individuals to take their place in STEM industries.
Looking Ahead
We’re excited to build on the success of June with more events coming this autumn, where STEM Women will host 9 in-person careers events, and a UK-Wide virtual event!
