Meet the Speakers – Melbourne STEM Careers Event – 7th March 2023

On Tuesday 7th March, we are running our first in-person event in Australia, the Melbourne In-Person STEM Careers Event, sponsored by Department of Transport and Planning Victoria. Taking place at the State Library Victoria in Melbourne, this event is perfect for students and graduates studying a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) related course.

We have 27 exhibiting employers taking part in the event, with 5 companies delivering live presentations on stage, followed by a Q&A.

Event Agenda

12:00 PM – Arrive at the venue and check-in and pick up a programme!

12:10 PM – 12:50 PM – Speaker Session One – Welcome talk from STEM Women and event sponsor Department of Transport and Planning Victoria. This is followed by employer insight talks from Department of Transport and Planning Victoria and Stone and Chalk.

  • Welcome talk – Department of Transport and Planning VictoriaCatherine Rooney, Executive Director.
  • Department of Transport and Planning Victoria – Mary Roe, Senior Project Executive.
  • Stone and ChalkJuliette Connolly, Group Executive, Experience. Building your Personal Brand: In this 10-minute talk, we will discuss the importance of personal branding in the workplace, and how you can leverage it to achieve your goals.

12:15 PM – Networking begins and runs until the event ends!

2:10 PM – 3:00 PM – Speaker Session Two – Welcome talk from STEM Women, this will be followed by employer insight talks from Jane Street, Korda Mentha, and Laing O’Rourke.
