London STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 13 November 2024

The London STEM Women event marked the finale of our 2024 Autumn in-person events, and it was a spectacular day! Over 400 enthusiastic students and graduates gathered at the Westminster venue to connect with 29 leading employers from a wide range of STEM industries.

A Prime Location for Networking

The event took place at QEII Centre, providing the perfect backdrop for meaningful connections. While exhibitors enjoyed a networking lunch, excited attendees began to arrive, ready to engage with some of the UK’s top employers.

An Insightful Opening Session

The day kicked off with a warm welcome from STEM Women, followed by engaging talks and a panel discussion featuring representatives from Virgin Media O2, Honeywell, Uniper, and Axiomise. The panellists shared their expertise and answered questions from the audience, offering invaluable insights into their industries.

Building Valuable Connections

Throughout the afternoon, attendees explored the exhibition area, where they could engage directly with all 29 employers. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn about graduate roles, internships, and career pathways while building meaningful professional connections.

Sophie, a student from Queen Mary University of London, said:

“It was great to network and meet with so many companies and people, listening to panel discussions and visiting stands to hear about other people’s career journeys and getting advice for my future career.” 

Inspirational Career Talks

Later in the day, a second speaker session featured representatives from Esri, AWE, BMD, and the BBC. These presentations provided fascinating careers advice, with speakers sharing personal experiences and key lessons from their diverse paths in STEM.
