On Wednesday 21st April, we are excited to be hosting a UK-wide STEM Women Technology Event!
This virtual event will attract STEM students and recent graduates who identify as female from universities across the UK. Attendees will have a passion for technology and will be looking to begin their careers in this industry.
We are inviting a range of top employers from the tech world to exhibit at the event. So far, these include Reply, Penna, VMware, Swift, GFT, Softcat, Alfa Systems, Barclays, SLC, Ekimetrics, Virgin, Alacrity, GCHQ, MI5 and MI6, KPMG, Ava Security, Sparta Global, Analysys Mason, Capita and Willmott Dixon.
The event will give attendees the opportunity to virtually network with employers via webchat, voice and voice call, watch a range of live speaker presentations, take part in a Q&A panel session and apply to live roles. Employers can set up virtual stands featuring information and videos, list their opportunities and book interview slots if they wish. They can also make use of our sourcing tool, which enables companies to view active attendees, filter by course and skills, and reach out to initiate a chat!
According to WISE statistics, the number of women working in IT professionals in 2019 was just 16%, and women working as IT technicians in 2019 was at 21% in 2019. We hope our events can help work towards a more equal future, by introducing talented young women to inspirational tech employers.
Sophie Chadwick, STEM Women Events Manager: “Having hosted a hugely successful UK technology event in September 2020, we can’t wait to bring our community another event focused on technology careers. With an amazing array of employers already signed up, this event promises to be one of our most inspiring yet!”
During our last UK Graduate Technology event, we welcomed an amazing 353 female STEM students and recent graduates to network with 17 top employers from the tech industry.

Sahana Kasaru from PA Consulting also added:
“The event definitely aims to encourage female talent into the tech industry! It was a great opportunity for both employers and aspiring candidates to connect on a single virtual platform and share insights, a perfect place for passionate women looking for vibrant opportunities.”
At STEM Women we have successfully introduced over 10,000 female students to graduate employers at events held in the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands since 2018. In Autumn 2020, we hosted 10 virtual careers events, welcoming 133 exhibiting employers and 3,421 women looking to start their careers in STEM industries.
In addition to our STEM Women Technology UK Event, we will also be hosting a UK wide graduate careers event in June, and regional graduate careers events throughout the autumn. For more information visit our events page.
