We have organised four STEM Women Graduate Careers Events in Bristol since 2018.

We continue to host an annual event in Bristol. Read on to find out more about our past events, and what to expect if you join us at one in future.

Talented attendees:

610 women studying a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree at university have attended a past event in Bristol. The majority of attendees had the right to work in the UK and were looking for career opportunities related to STEM.

Our attendees are most commonly studying for their degrees at:

• Bath Spa University
• University of Bristol
• University of Bath
• University of Cardiff
• University of Gloucestershire
• University of the West of England (UWE)

We also welcome students studying at other universities in the UK who call Bristol home, and expect to return to live and work there when they graduate.

Our events are free for students to attend, and we offer travel reimbursement so that students travelling from outside the Bristol area can attend.

Exhibitors: 

65 employers have exhibited with us at one of our Bristol events since 2018. These fantastic companies exhibited to promote their internships, placements, and graduate roles to our attendees. Many of our Bristol exhibitors have returned year on year.

Countless women have discovered new careers at our events and many leave feeling inspired from a 1-1 conversation with a woman working in industry, or a company HR representative. Crucially, many have since gone on to apply for and secure roles with our exhibitors.

We have met many women who attended our event as a student and then returned as a company representative the following year! It’s great to see them inspire the next generation of talented women.

STEM Women Bristol Events through the years:

Wednesday 21^st November 2018:

We chose the iconic WeTheCurious as the venue for our first ever Bristol event. Many months of work went into spreading the word to employers and students based near to Bristol. Our team travelled down to Bristol from our office in Liverpool via a Transport for Wales train (one of our exhibitors in recent years)! We were excited to host our event in such a renowned student city.

We welcomed 153 talented attendees to our event. They queued up outside the venue ready to check-in and network with 18 employers.

We watched as connections were made, coffee was consumed, and excited attendees discovered new career opportunities!

Wednesday 13^th November 2019:

The following year, we were back for another event at WeTheCurious. 157 students joined us this time, mainly studying in Bristol, Bath, and Cardiff. They met with 17 outstanding employers.

We often partner with relevant societies and encourage them to support our events. As an example, we arranged for the ‘Women in Computer Science Society’ to be collected from their campus and taken to our event in a minibus!

After another successful event, we were looking forward to returning to Bristol in autumn 2020. However, due to COVID-19, this was not to be. Whilst we had to delay all our in-person events, we continued to deliver successful events for employers and attendees via our online platform. From 2020 – 2023 women studying in Bristol had opportunities to join our STEM Women Virtual Graduate Careers Events instead.

Wednesday 6^th November 2024:

We were back in full swing running in-person events by November 2024, and we couldn’t have been more delighted. Once again, full of anticipation and with our white STEM Women sweatshirts packed in our overnight bags, we all headed down to Bristol for our third in-person event.

Our community were equally happy to be back connecting face to face as a record 209 talented attendees joined us, networking with 22 employers across the afternoon.

Bristol is a firm favourite location for many of our team, we are especially proud to introduce so many women studying engineering to fantastic local companies.

Wednesday 25^th June 2025:

In 2025 we ran a Bristol event in the summer for the first time. The view from the roof of WeTheCurious across a sunny Bristol day was incredible, and the exhibitor stands were busy throughout the afternoon (we stagger the ticket times to ensure an even flow of attendees)!

Our summer events are often perfect for students who are in the process of graduating. It’s not uncommon for us to see some graduation ceremonies happening while we’re staying in our event cities!

At this event, 121 targeted local women studying STEM degrees in Bristol and looking for roles, joined us for the afternoon. They met with 8 employers and created even more incredible connections, in turn applying for graduate roles across Bristol.

2026 Event:

We will be back in autumn 2026 for our fifth STEM Women Bristol Graduate Careers Event. As you can probably imagine, we can’t wait!
