As the new academic year gets underway, STEM Women have announced their sponsorship of a new student society for 2024-25, the Women in STEM Society at the University of Glasgow.

WiSTEM focuses on promoting, supporting, and celebrating women in STEM fields, at the University of Glasgow and beyond.  They have around 150 members, with engagement growing each year. Their members represent a wide range of academic disciplines within STEM, and they aim to create space for women within traditionally male-dominated areas.

The STEM Women team were impressed with the scale of the society’s activities as well their civic values. They run a variety of events throughout the year, including socials, networking events, community outreach, fundraisers for charity, and primary school workshops.

This new sponsorship agreement will enable the society to grow their impact on the Women in STEM community.

STEM Women will be hosting a careers event in Glasgow next month. The Glasgow STEM Women Careers Event will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel on 17th October. This event will connect employers and recruiters in STEM to talented students and recent graduates.
