Manchester STEM Women Graduate Careers Events

We have organised 9 in-person Graduate Careers Events in Manchester since 2018 and continue to run one or two events in Manchester every year.

Our Manchester Student Community

Our Manchester Events have attracted 1,895 students and recent graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Our events are targeted at women studying or recently graduated from a STEM degree at university that have the right to work in the UK and are looking for career opportunities in STEM, such as internships, placements, graduate schemes, and jobs.

Our attendees most commonly study for their degrees at:

• University of Manchester
• Manchester Metropolitan University
• University of Salford
• Other North West universities such as University of Liverpool (with subsidised travel for students in Liverpool and some other cities)

Exhibitors

183 Employers have exhibited at one of our in-person Manchester events since 2018. These employers attend our events to recruit early STEM talent and promote their internships, placements and graduate roles to our attendees, as well as increase brand awareness and broaden their early talent pipelines. Many of our Manchester exhibitors return to year on year.

Countless women have discovered new careers at our events and many leave feeling inspired having chatted to employers at their stands. Crucially, many have since gone on to apply for and secure roles with our exhibitors.

We have met many women who attended our event as a student and then returned as a company representative the following year!

Our In-Person Manchester Events:

25th February 2026

On the 25th February 2026, STEM Women returned to Manchester for our Autumn event where we welcomed 135 students & graduates to meet 7 exhibiting companies in Manchester, at the iconic Bridgewater Hall.

The targeted attendees are amongst Manchester’s top young female talent studying disciplines in and related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. They arrived throughout the afternoon excited to meet the company representatives, discover early career opportunities and hear exclusive insights and advice from industry professionals.

The careers fair ran from 1pm until 4pm, giving employers plenty of time to showcase their brand, network with attendees and search for candidates for their roles. The event allowed attendees the ideal environment to discover opportunities that align with their interests and disciplines, as well as find new paths and businesses to consider for their career development.

27th October 2025

On Monday 27th October 2025, we held our annual Autumn Manchester STEM Women Graduate Careers Event welcoming 365 students and graduates to meet 26 exhibiting employers to connect and explore opportunities during the peak hiring season of the year. For attendees, the event provided the opportunity to search for early careers opportunities such as placements, jobs, internships and graduate schemes in STEM industries, and for employers, the event provided the opportunity to meet hundreds of women in STEM disciplines in one afternoon to fill their positions in engineering, technology, mathematics and science.

The targeted attendees arrived at the event at 1pm, excited to meet employers and recruiters, expand their network, discover opportunities for STEM graduates and hear from employers in different industry sectors.

26th February 2025

On 26th February 2025, STEM Women returned to Manchester for our Q1 graduate careers event, offering an ideal space for recent graduates to connect with top employers in Manchester to find internships, jobs and graduate schemes. The event also provided university students with the opportunity to discover placement opportunities.

We welcomed 168 enthusiastic attendees to meet 13 top employers in Manchester, all searching to diversify their talent pipelines with the next generation of women in STEM. Throughout the afternoon, connections and conversations were made. Employers who attend our events are passionate about inclusive hiring and were able to connect directly with diverse STEM talent.

16th October 2024

On Wednesday 16th October 2024, STEM Women hosted the Manchester STEM Women Graduate Careers Event. The event attracted 33 exhibiting employers and 265 student and graduate attendees. 

The event allowed attendees to network with employers from a wide range of STEM industries, discovering many opportunities offered by exhibitors and making new connections to grow their professional networks.

Our events also allow for peer-to-peer networking, providing the ideal environment for attendees to connect with like-minded women and make connections for their future. Our attendees also receive great advice during our events, with employers and industry professionals giving them CV help and tips for success in their industries.

28th February 2024

On 28th February 2024, STEM Women hosted the Manchester TEM Women Graduate Careers Event, welcoming 266 students and graduates and 24 exhibiting employers.

The event offered a warm, vibrant networking hub with employer and peer-to-peer networking, refreshments, and a popular new STEM Women selfie wall.

18th October 2023

On the 18th October 2023, we hosted our another annual Autumn event in Manchester to give students & graduates the opportunity to discover jobs, graduate schemes, internships and placements during the busiest hiring season of the year. This event where we hosted 257 attendees who arrived to meet 25 exhibiting employers.

We have also held several Manchester Community Events in 2018 and 2019:

• 30th October 2019 – 207 attendees & 24 exhibitors
• 14th  November 2018 – 167 attendees & 21 exhibitors
• 6th June 2018 – 65 attendees & 11 exhibitors

2026 Events

We are set to run another Manchester event in 2026!  Employers and attendees will be able to sign-up via our website, and this blog will also be updated to show you the full details as they are announced.
