Birmingham STEM Women Graduate Careers Events

We have organised 8 in-person Graduate Careers Events in Birmingham since 2018 and continue to run events in Birmingham once or twice every year.

Our Birmingham Student Community

STEM Women’s Birmingham Events have attracted 1,700 students and recent graduates in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). These events are targeted at women studying or recently graduated from a STEM degree at university that have the right to work in the UK and are looking for career opportunities in STEM, such as internships, placements, graduate schemes, and jobs.

Our attendees most commonly study for their degrees at:

• University of Birmingham
• Birmingham City University
• Aston University
• University of Leicester
• University of Wolverhampton

Exhibitors

151 Employers have exhibited at one of our in-person Birmingham events since 2018. These employers attend our events to recruit early STEM talent and promote their internships, placements and graduate roles to our attendees, as well as increase brand awareness and broaden their early talent pipelines. Many of our Birmingham exhibitors return to year on year.

Countless women have discovered new careers at our events and many leave feeling inspired having chatted to employers at their stands. Crucially, many have since gone on to apply for and secure roles with our exhibitors.

We have met many women who attended our event as a student and then returned as a company representative the following year!

Our In-Person Birmingham Events:

10th February 2026

On the 10th February, STEM Women were in Birmingham for our first graduate careers event of 2026! We kicked off the year by gathering 101 student & graduate attendees to meet 5 exhibitors in Birmingham. Attendees flow in throughout the afternoon with staggered ticket waves to allow exhibitors and attendees alike to get the most out of the entire afternoon, allowing time for valuable conversations and networking. An intimate event like this one allowed the students & graduates to ask important questions and learn about the job opportunities that the employers were offering.

Our targeted attendees are amongst Birmingham’s top young female talent studying disciplines in and related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The event ran from 1pm until 4pm, giving employers plenty of time to showcase their brand, network with attendees and search for candidates for their roles. Attendees had the ideal environment to discover opportunities that align with their interests and disciplines, as well as find new paths and businesses to consider for their career development.

29th October 2025

On Wednesday 29th October 2025, we held our annual Autumn Birmingham STEM Women Graduate Careers Event welcoming 248 students and graduates to meet 16 exhibiting employers to connect and explore opportunities during the peak hiring season of the year. For attendees, the event provided the opportunity to search for early careers opportunities such as placements, jobs, internships and graduate schemes in STEM industries. For employers, the event provided the opportunity to meet hundreds of women in STEM disciplines in one afternoon to fill their positions in engineering, technology, mathematics and science.

The targeted attendees arrived at the event at 1pm, excited to meet employers and recruiters, expand their network, discover opportunities for STEM graduates and hear from employers in different industry sectors.

23rd October 2024

On 23rd October 2024, STEM Women returned to Birmingham once again for our annual Autumn graduate careers event, welcoming 265 attendees and 30 exhibitors to meet for an afternoon of networking, discovery and opportunity! 

Employers who attend our events are passionate about inclusive hiring and were able to connect directly with diverse STEM talent.

14th February 2024

In February 2024 we welcomed 295 attendees to meet 13 employers in Birmingham, West Midlands. This event allows an opportunity outside of the busy autumn season for graduates and students in STEM to discover opportunities in their industries and meet employers in their local area.

Our events also allow for peer-to-peer networking, providing the ideal environment for attendees to connect with like-minded women and make connections for their future. 

25th October 2023

On 25th October 2023, STEM Women hosted the Birmingham STEM Women Graduate Careers Event, welcoming 295 students and graduates and 27 exhibiting employers.

Our attendees receive great advice during our events, with employers and industry professionals giving them CV help and tips for success in their industries.

We have also held several Birmingham Community Events in 2018 and 2019:

• 5th November 2019 – 147 attendees & 30 exhibitors
• 6th March 2019 – 154 attendees & 10 exhibitors
• 22nd October 2018 – 180 attendees & 20 exhibitors

2026 Events

We are set to run another Birmingham event in 2026!  Employers and attendees will be able to sign-up via our website, and this blog will also be updated to show you the full details as they are announced.
