Sydney STEM Women Graduate Careers Events

We have organised 4 in-person Careers Events in Sydney since 2023 and continue to run one or two events in Sydney every year.

Talented attendees

2,006 women studying a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree at university have attended one of our in-person events in Sydney. Most of our attendees have the right to work in Australia.

Our attendees are most commonly studying for their degrees at:

• University of Sydney
• University of Technology Sydney
• University of New South Wales
• Macquarie University

Incredible exhibitors

142 graduate employers have exhibited with us at one of our in-person Sydney events since 2023. These fantastic companies exhibited to promote their internships, placements, and graduate roles to our attendees. Many of our Sydney exhibitors have returned year on year.

We are incredibly proud of the community of women in STEM we have built in Sydney, the events we have held, and the women who have discovered careers in STEM through attending.

Countless women have discovered new careers at our events and many leave feeling inspired having chatted to employers at their stands. Crucially, many have since gone on to apply for and secure roles with our exhibitors, read about Finisar’s success story with STEM Women Sydney events.

We have met many women who attended our event as a student and then returned as a company representative the following year.

Friday 13th March 2026

At our March 2026 event we welcomed 452 attendees and 25 exhibitors to connect over an afternoon of networking. This was the 3rd event of our Australia 2o26 roadshow. As one of Australia’s largest STEM student hubs, Sydney brought together a diverse group of attendees representing disciplines including engineering, computer science, mathematics and technology.

Employers arrived at 11:45am to enjoy an exhibitor lunch, before networking began at 1pm and ran until 4pm. We stagger our ticket waves, so employer stands stay busy throughout the afternoon. The event was filled with valuable conversations as students explored career pathways and employers shared insights into their organisations, graduate programmes and the exciting projects early-career STEM professionals can be involved in.

21st March 2025

We welcomed 456 attendees to meet 42 exhibitors to our March 2025 event. Held at the ICC Sydney, the event created the ideal environment for connecting students and graduates with STEM employers and was bursting with opportunity! Attendees engaged with industry leaders, participated in insightful discussions, and discovered pathways to exciting careers in STEM.​

This event saw strong engagement from students eager to expand their professional networks and gain insight into industry careers. Employers had the opportunity to speak directly with motivated students, offering guidance on applications, career development and the skills that help candidates stand out in competitive graduate recruitment processes.

15th March 2024

On March 15th 2024, we welcomed 676 attendees to our Sydney STEM Women Student & Graduate Careers Event,

This event was our second ever in Sydney, and we were so happy to see so many returning exhibitors from our 2023 event as well as welc0me so many new ones as we expand our graduate employer network. The event rean from 1pm – 4pm, and the networking space stayed busy the entire afternoon. Attendees from STEM backgrounds flowed into to discover opportunities for women in their industries. The venue was filled with banners, free goodies for the attendees, leaflets and company representatives ready to introduce their brands to the young STEM talent and search for candidates.

Friday 10th March 2023

In March 2023, we hosted our first ever Sydney event! We welcomed 31 exhibiting employers and 407 attendees at the International Convention Centre Sydney. It was a fantastic day with a buzzing atmosphere and we were so excited to be expanding our community into a brand new city for STEM Women.

Virtual Events 2021 – 2025

In addition to our in-person events, we ran virtual events covering Australia 2021 – 2025. These events helped those who were limited in terms of travel (especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic) but they also helped us launch our brand in Australia back in 2021. Employers and attendees got a taste of a STEM Women Event before we launched in person in 2023.

We ran the following events covering Australia:

• Virtual Australia & New Zealand STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 10th March 2022
• Virtual Australia & New Zealand STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 9th March 2023
• Virtual Australia STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 5th August 2025

Hundreds of graduate employers met thousands of attendees at our virtual events, and we continued to run virtual events covering Australia annually until 2025.

AAGE Membership

We are proud members of the AAGE and have attended the conference each year since our Events & Marketing Director Sophie Chadwick attended back in 2022. Over the years we have sponsored various elements of the conference, including being Gala Dinner sponsor twice!

Our most recent attendance was in 2025 where two members of our Sales Team, Aldana Zenker & Polly Mewis, attended in Brisbane!

We will be back at the AAGE Conference in 2026.

We’ll be returning to Sydney every year for more events.
