Newton Consulting in London – February 2026

Newton exhibited at our London event in February 2026 and found great success! In this blog, Emma Sands, Early Careers Recruitment Assistant at Newton Consulting recalls the event and describes the direct impact on brand awareness, application numbers, and diversification of their talent pool.

“The event was very busy and had a good variety of employers there which were all relevant for STEM students. The students in attendance were engaged and came prepared to speak with employers, meaning we had a variety of meaningful interactions throughout the day.”

At STEM Women events, we introduce inspirational employers to our STEM Women community at a one day event. Our specialist sourcing team sources female students and graduates from relevant STEM disciplines to attend our events.

Emma shares the kinds of attendees Newton were looking for, and what they hoped to achieve from exhibiting at the event. “We accept students from all degree backgrounds, so we were delighted to be in a space that welcomed all STEM backgrounds. We were hoping to create some brand awareness, and increase the number of STEM Women applicants in our application process.”

Outcomes

Newton found that attending the London STEM Women Graduate Careers event generated positive outcomes for them. They were able to introduce their brand to the next generation of STEM and build a pipeline of diverse talent.

“The event helped us to achieve a strong amount of brand awareness with most students not being aware of us prior to the event but leaving very interested in the work that we do and wanting to potentially apply. We were also keen to diversify our talent pipeline, reinforcing the messaging that STEM Women would thrive in a consultancy environment such as ours.”

As an outcome, Newton have noticed changes in the applications received, they tie this directly to exhibiting at the STEM Women event and being able to connect their brand with the students and graduates that attended:

“This year we saw an increase in applications from all universities, with some universities appearing more than usual – we believe this was directly linked to the high attendance rate from students at those universities at the STEM Women event.”

Emma states that STEM Women Events are incredibly important for diversifying Newton’s talent pipeline:

“They are incredibly important – DEI is at the heart of Newton, so making sure we have a strong percentage of STEM Women in our process ensures we have a diverse pipeline and workforce in the future.”

Newton are looking forward to attending the October 2026 London STEM Women Graduate Careers Event to meet more enthusiastic students, showcase their brand, and build an even stronger and diverse talent pool of women from STEM disciplines, and we’re thrilled to welcome them back!
