What is Tax at KPMG?
Tax is changing quickly, shaped by new technology, increased regulation and greater expectations around transparency. Governments are also using tax to support environmental and social goals. It makes this a fast-moving, challenging and exciting area to begin your career.
We help clients understand these developments, navigate complex requirements and stay compliant by providing timely, accurate advice and information.
Tax Apprenticeship
Our Tax practice works with organisations of all sizes across a wide range of specialisms. From day one, you’ll work on high-profile projects as part of a collaborative team. You’ll help clients navigate complex tax policy and regulation, so they can stay compliant and pay the right tax at the right time.
Along the way, you’ll tackle challenges at the heart of their organisations, gain a broad understanding of how businesses operate and build valuable technical skills. It’s experience that can open up many different routes for your future career.
Training and Benefits
On this programme, you’ll study towards the AAT Levels 3 and 4, plus the Level 7 ACA professional qualification or CA equivalent in Scotland. These qualifications are fully funded by KPMG and are supported by an extensive programme of internal training spanning both personal and professional development.
We offer an annual salary of £25,500 to £28,000, and a host of great benefits too, including 25 days’ holiday, study leave and a day off on your birthday. What’s more, you can take up to six days of time off to take part in volunteering initiatives.
Our firm’s hybrid working model balances the flexibility of working from home with the importance of collaborating and learning in our offices or at client organisations. We trust our people to be where they need to be, with our colleagues working together in person as often as needed.
Seeing the whole picture
As part of the Tax team, you will be building friendships and shared experiences, innovating, and learning together. KPMG is a place where you can be yourself and give your best – whoever you are and whatever your background. We look at more than just your academic results and will also consider your strengths, values and motivations. If you’re collaborative and good with people, that can be just as important as your ability to pick up key technical skills. See the specific programme page on our Careers Portal for entry requirements and our ‘Applying to KPMG’ section for detailed application guidance.
