We have organised 3 in-person Careers Events in Brisbane since 2024 and continue to run one event in Brisbane every year.

Talented attendees

1,167 women studying a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) degree at university have attended one of our in-person events in Brisbane. Most of our attendees have the right to work in Australia.

Our attendees are most commonly studying for their degrees at:

  • University of Queensland
  • Queensland University of Technology
  • Griffith University
  • University of the Sunshine Coast
  • Central Queensland University
Incredible exhibitors

71 graduate employers have exhibited with us at one of our in-person Brisbane events since 2024. These fantastic companies exhibited to promote their internships, placements, and graduate roles to our attendees. Many of our Brisbane exhibitors have returned year on year.

Some of the exhibitors who have joined us over the years include:

We are incredibly proud of the community of women in STEM we have built in Brisbane, the events we have held, and the women who have discovered careers in STEM through attending.

11th March 2026

On 11th March 2026, STEM Women welcomed 326 attendees and 16 exhibitors to the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for the STEM Women Student & Graduate Careers Event 2o26, the second stop on our Australia 2026 Roadshow.

The event ran from 1pm until 4pm, with the employers arriving at 11:45am to set up their exhibition stands and enjoy an exhibitor lunch before an afternoon of productive networking. The day brought hundreds of ambitious talented women in STEM to meet with the employers, exploring early careers opportunities such as internships, placements, graduate schemes and jobs. We stagger entry times for the attendees to ensure a constant flow throughout the afternoon, and ensure that attendees and exhibitors have time for high quality conversations and networking.

31st March 2025

We welcomed 394 attendees to meet 28 exhibitors to our March 2025 event at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event provided a platform for students and graduates to connect with employers and sell their skills while finding the best opportunities suited to them. The afternoon was filled with meaningful conversations, career advice, and potential job opportunities. Students and graduates arrived throughout the afternoon eager to connect with employers and search for early careers opportunities in STEM fields.

“It’s great to see people show up to these events because it gives that extra advantage of a familiar face over sending in your resume. Great for companies to know who’s actually keen & personable.” Zoe Taylor, Undergraduate Engineer, Brady Marine & Civil

These events provide the ideal environment for forward thinking companies to meet hundreds of eager students and graduates in STEM to diversify their talent pipelines and champion diversity, equity & inclusion in their recruitment.

25th March 2024

On March 25th 2024, we welcomed 447 attendees to our Brisbane STEM Women Student & Graduate Careers Event to meet 27 exhibiting employers. This event was our  first ever event in Brisbane, and we were so excited to begin building both our employer and student networks in Queensland!

The impressive impact of this event highlighted the appeal of STEM Women’s initiatives and the growing demand for opportunities to promote inclusivity and diversity in STEM industries, so it is exciting for STEM Women to expand into Brisbane, providing women in STEM with opportunities to meet prospective employers in more cities across Australia.

“Great opportunity to connect with the next generation of talent!” – Chantal Simons, HR Manager

Virtual Events 2021 – 2025

In addition to our in-person events, we ran virtual events covering Australia 2021 – 2025. These events helped those who were limited in terms of travel (especially due to the COVID-19 pandemic) but they also helped us launch our brand in Australia back in 2021. Employers and attendees got a taste of a STEM Women Event before we launched in person in 2023.

We ran the following events covering Australia:

  • Virtual Australia STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 13th March 2021
  • Virtual Australia & New Zealand STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 10th March 2022
  • Virtual Australia & New Zealand STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 9th March 2023
  • Virtual Australia STEM Women Graduate Careers Event – 5th August 2025

Hundreds of graduate employers met thousands of attendees at our virtual events, and we continued to run virtual events covering Australia annually until 2025.
