Leah’s journey, from becoming a STEM Women member to securing her dream role in technology

Leah studied Maths and Astrophysics at Keele University and began searching for roles within the technology industry in her second year. She became a member on the STEM Women platform and was able to search and apply for amazing opportunities in her industry.

How Leah got her role in technology

Leah first began researching tech roles whilst she was in her second year at Keele University studying Maths and Astrophysics. During the search she found the STEM Women careers portal and became a member, filling out her profile and uploading her CV. She began applying to the roles that interested her and tried to stay positive after receiving a few rejections. When searching she came across a technology role at QA on the STEM Women job portal. She could see that her profile and skills were a great match for the role and so she applied that same day. She is now working with a top QA client as a ServiceNow Specialist!

How did you find the STEM Women platform?

“The STEM Women platform is really easy to use and straightforward. I was able to create my profile, add my skills, describe my experience and upload my CV. I could then search through jobs using the different filters and see my percentage match to roles. There is a great selection of opportunities on the portal, and I knew that the companies that were promoting their roles here were committed to improving their gender balance which was great to see.”
