Technology Trainee – Infrastructure Support

What is Infrastructure Support?

The Technology Division is an essential function within DCME, forming a significant proportion of our total workforce. European Infrastructure works as a supportive business partner across our Front, Middle, and Back Office business areas. The team is responsible for delivering a stable and reliable infrastructure, whilst adapting to changing business needs, delivering strategic and innovative solutions and providing new technologies where appropriate.

What is the role?

As a technical support analyst, you will have the opportunity to join a newly established and growing team within the European Infrastructure Department, focused on Cyber Security, Compliance & Governance. With tailored guidance and support, you will assist with the analysis of proposed solutions and the production of project documentation for presentation at various Committees. Additionally, you will engage with a variety of departments to ensure that there is compliance across the Division; this will include the review and updating of internal procedures to ensure the Division meets changing business needs and industry requirements.

How will it suit me?

Your role will involve direct mentorship from the IT Management Group and you will join an experienced team which will lead the production of new governance frameworks spanning across all of our business areas. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with strong logical reasoning and analytical skills. You should also enjoy working with people and demonstrate a passion for problem-solving.

What do you expect from me?

It is expected that you will be committed to providing a high level of support and possess the ability to think creatively to solve problems using methodical reasoning and analysis. You will need to have a strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively to people with varying levels of technical expertise. We also expect that the successful candidate will have an interest and willingness to develop their knowledge of the financial industry.

And what qualifications do I need?

It is expected that the successful candidate will have obtained (or be predicted to obtain) a 2:1 or above in a relevant degree subject requiring the use of logical reasoning to resolve problems. An analytical thinker with a raw intellectual ability is required. We are happy to consider a wide array of degree subjects having regard for the above. A Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics degree is useful but not essential. The successful candidate will be supported to obtain an appropriate professional qualification.
