The Technical University of Munich (TUM) invites applications for the position of Professor in Healthcare Robotics, W3 Associate or Full Professor; to begin as soon as possible.
Scientific environment
The professorship will be assigned to the Department of Computer Engineering of the TUM School of
Computation, Information & Technology. It will be located at the TUM Campus Garmisch-Partenkirchen and
affiliated with the Integrative Research Center (IRC) Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence
(MIRMI).
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek
to appoint an expert in one of the following research areas:
• Natural human-robot interaction
• Intelligent telerobotics
• Robotic Healthcare Assistance
Teaching responsibilities include courses in the university’s bachelor and master programs, especially in the
professional profiles “Electrical and Computer Engineering” and “Informatics”. In particular, the professorship is
expected to assume a significant key role in designing and developing the M.Sc. program Geriatronics at the
TUM Campus Garmisch-Partenkirchen (planned to be established for winter semester 2030/31).
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an
internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level (please see

A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as
pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected.
